Historic Stonework Restoration in Dundee
This Victorian townhouse in Dundee had significant stonework deterioration on the front elevation. Eroded quoins, crumbling window surrounds, and failed cement pointing that was trapping moisture and making things worse.
We removed all the inappropriate cement pointing and replaced it with lime mortar. Damaged quoins and window surrounds were replaced with stone matched from a local quarry. The work was done carefully, section by section, to maintain the building's structural integrity throughout.
The restoration took three weeks. The building now looks as it should - the repairs blend with the original work, the stone can breathe properly again, and the deterioration has been stopped.
