Extension Stonework That Belongs

The worst thing about a bad extension is when you can see where the old building ends and the new one begins. We match the existing stone - type, colour, coursing style - so your extension looks like it was always there. Whether it's a kitchen extension, an extra bedroom, or a full two-storey addition, the stonework will be seamless.

Invisible Joins

We match your existing stone in type, colour, size and coursing style. The goal is simple: nobody should be able to tell where the original house ends and the extension begins.

[   02   ]

Coursing & Style

We match the coursing pattern of the original stonework so the extension reads as part of the same building.

[   03  ]

Structural Stone

Load-bearing stone walls for extensions, built to current standards while matching traditional appearance.

[   04   ]

Stone Cladding

Natural stone cladding over block or timber frame construction. The right finish for the right budget.

[   05   ]

Detailing

Window surrounds, quoins, coping stones - the details that make an extension look like it was always part of the house.

[   06   ]

Coordination

We work alongside your builder and other trades, fitting our stonework into the build programme at the right stage.

Extension Stonework Questions Answered

[   FAQs   ]

Extension FAQ - Masowa & Son
Can you match the stone on my existing house?

In most cases, yes. We'll assess your existing stonework and source matching material. Even if the exact quarry isn't available, we can usually find stone that's very close in colour and character.

Do you do stone cladding on extensions?

Yes. Stone cladding over a block or frame construction is a common approach for extensions. It gives you the look of a stone building at a more accessible price point.

Will the new stone eventually match the old?

New stone is always slightly cleaner than weathered stone. But it weathers in over time, and within a few years the difference becomes very subtle. We select stone that will age to match.

Do I need a stonemason for my extension?

If your house is stone and you want the extension to match, yes. A general builder can lay block and render, but matching stonework needs someone who understands stone. That's us.
